Frequently Asked Questions
Aren't master minds just for business? KMI Master Minds™ are different. They provide all the wonderful benefits of traditional master minds, with the addition of oodles of creativity and the Kaizen approach. This includes a process oriented approach and taking action steps during each session. You will have breakthroughs you will be excited to share, and you will have road bumps to navigate with the support and help of your fellow members.
What if I have to miss a session? To receive the maximum benefit of this experience, it is best if you can attend all four sessions. However we recognize that sometimes it just isn't possible. We will record all the sessions and a link to the records will be made available.
What is Kaizen? Kaizen is a philosophy. It's a kinder smarter way to create positive change. Its basic pillars, or tools, for continuous improvement are thinking tiny thoughts, taking small actions, asking small questions and receiving small and relevant rewards. The process breaks down large projects into small, manageable bite-size pieces so you are able to bypass procrastination and perfectionism - two enemies of real progress. Kaizen defuses resistance and overwhelm and allows you to create a gentle sustainable momentum to accomplish your goals.
What is a master mind? A master mind is a group of people coming together for the support and advancement of each individual member. A KMI Master Mind™ is a master mind of a different colour. Layered over the basic principles of a master mind are three key concepts: the kaizenphilosophy, the non-linear creative process and a sense of fun and enjoyment.
What sort of experience do I need to be in a KMI Master Mind™? No experience is necessary. You don’t need to know about kaizen or even consider yourself creative. All will be explained in a gentle and fun manner.
How many hours do I need to commit per week? Each Master Mind is 90 minutes long. During that time, you will be taking small actions on your project. If that is all you want to do, that’s fine. Your time commitment can run the gamut--from the 90-minute Master Mind session only, to any extra minutes or hours you’d like to devote between sessions on the things you want to do most.
What kind of technology do I need? The master mind sessions will take place on a free, and user friendly video conferencing platform called Zoom. You can access Zoom via computer/laptop, tablet, or mobile device. You just need to download and install a free piece of software. If you don’t want to videoconference, you can also call into the session via telephone although you may incur long distance charges.
What does KMI stand for? KMI originally stood for Kaizen-Muse Infused Master Mind™, but that was a bit of a mouthful, so we shortened it to KMI. K is for kaizen - the kinder, smarter way to create positive continuous change. M is for muse - the bringer of creative inspiration and also refers to the whimsical work of Jill Badonsky. I is for infused - the way kaizen and creativity inform and permeate all aspects of the KMI Master Mind™.
Where the heck is The Purple Ink Cafe? The Purple Ink Cafe is a virtual place and space to connect, create, and collaborate. That being said, we let you create your own version - with exactly what you need in the moment - with a short guided relaxation which leads you into the cafe through your own imagination! The magic of modern technology and the user friendly app Zoom lets us connect in real time, both visually and auditorily, from the comfort of your own surroundings.
