Seeing With New Eyes
I'm literally seeing with new eyes thanks to my new eye glasses. About a month ago I was really struggling with my eyesight. Prone to worrying, I thought I might be getting age related cataracts. An eye exam revealed that my eyes are in great health but that somehow I had missed an eye exam and my prescription was four years old. New lens were required and why not get new purple frames too.
Seeing with new eyes though is an old concept. Sometimes referred to as beginners' eyes, it is the ability that we all have to look at something familiar as if for the first time. To see it with wonder and curiosity, delight and discernment. This is a great skill to practice. Not only can it be fun and add freshness to your day, it helps to crank up your awareness level. When you are dialled into awareness ... that's when the magic begins.
Take clutter, for example. How might you see your clutter (assuming that you have clutter somewhere in your life, be it physical, electronic or unfinished projects that is calling for your attention) with new eyes? One exercise we share in the Creative Clutter Clearing:a KMI Master Mind, is to invite members to view their clutter through compassion coloured glasses.
Before this exercise I would avoid looking at my clutter at all costs. Just seeing it would bring up feelings of incompetency and a host of other self defeating emotions. Wearing my compassion coloured glasses let me see my clutter in a different way. It became remnants of my former self. I found myself with the opportunity to choose what I wanted to bring with me into my current life. Having this choice made it much easier to let the rest go.
A new Creative Clutter Clearing KMI Master Mind group begins Thursday, September 29 at 7 pm ET. If you or someone you know is interested in discovering the 10 C's to move you from chaos to calm, please check out this link. This is not a course or a 'how to' set of instructions. This is a collaborative, creative 'let's do' group of people who want to gain some sustainable momentum to shift from their clutter habit towards living the life they want. It's filled with fun, Kaizen, creativity and clutter clearing action!

I share how I see the world through everyday topics that connect me to my creativity - my challenge with clutter, master minds, ideas, strategies and process - mostly though the lens of my kaizen training.
