Writing the Path Into and Through Your Second Half of Life:
a KMI Master Mind™

Sunday, July 15  4:00 pm - 5:30 p.m. EDT
Facilitated by:
 Kathy Kane
Picture
You don’t need to be a writer to use the power of the written word for getting clear on what is important to you in your second half of life.

Join me for a pause in your busy life and begin to dream-map how life can be as we make the journey through the "third age", that time between mid-career jobs and empty nests and before dependent old age. That can be decades! Reconnect with the beautiful essence of you and move forward with purpose and grace.
We will start with a prompt from which you can write, doodle, use for random thoughts and/or daydream. Then we'll come back into the circle for brainstorming, thinking out loud, resources or whatever you need at that moment. You will leave with a small step to get you moving.
About Kathy
Kathy is a writer and a coach who applies the creative process to the process of living, particularly living in our second half or what is also called "the third age".  She is also a co-proprietress of The Purple Ink Cafe and co-founder of KMI Master Minds™ .

Create some SPACE in your summer and do the thing that is calling to you. You know that thing you have been putting off until you have more time, until you helped so and so do the thing they love. Learn ways to tap into your creative flow . Slip into some structured time. Take small steps with gentle accountability and find yourself just where you want and need to be.

And if you are wondering why we capitalize SPACE, it's because it is an acronym for how we make time and space for the things that are important to us! S is for flexible structure, P is for the kaizen philosophy, A is for the gentle accountability of taking small steps, C is for creative tools and techniques and E is for the expansive experience!

New to KMI Master Minds™?

KMI Master Minds™ are designed with creativity and kaizen making them a low pressured, enjoyable and effective way to generate and elevate an idea or project.

During each master mind, there is time for the members to work as a whole for the benefit of the member in the choice (hot) seat. While there may not always be time for every member to have a turn in the choice seat, everyone receives value. Each master mind also provides time to take individual action and make progress on your own project or idea.  And, by the way, writing a list of what needs to be done (or what has been done) counts as taking action!

NOTE: All times are listed in EDT.  Click HERE to convert to your own timezone.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does KMI stand for?
KMI originally stood for Kaizen-Muse Infused Master Mind™, but that was a bit of a mouthful, so we shortened it to KMI. K is for kaizen - the kinder, smarter way to create positive continuous change. M is for muse - the bringer of creative inspiration and also refers to the whimsical work of Jill Badonsky. I is for infused - the way kaizen and creativity inform and permeate all aspects of the KMI Master Mind™.

What is a master mind?
A master mind is a group of people coming together for the support and advancement of each individual member.  A KMI Master Mind™ is a master mind of a different colour.  Layered over the basic principles of a master mind are three key concepts: the kaizen philosophy, the non-linear creative process and a sense of fun and enjoyment.

What is the difference between a master mind and a circle?
In a circle everyone is equal and participates through sharing and holding space for others. In a master mind each person takes a turn at being the focal point; of putting forward their request and having all minds work as one to meet that request. A KMI Master Mind™ incorporates elements of a circle, is intimate and supportive and also has the power of a think tank!

What is kaizen?
Kaizen is a philosophy. It's a kinder smarter way to create positive change. Its basic pillars, or tools, for continuous improvement are thinking tiny thoughts, taking small actions, asking small questions and receiving small and relevant rewards. The process breaks down large projects into small, manageable bite-size pieces so you are able to bypass procrastination and perfectionism - two enemies of real progress. Kaizen defuses resistance and overwhelm and allows you to create a gentle sustainable momentum to accomplish your goals.

What makes a KMI Master Mind different?
It's the blend of all that makes a traditional master mind so powerful, with the gentle and effective kaizen philosophy and a generous sprinkle of creativity. As on participant said,"It is like a gentle propellent, that's always there when you need a boost."

Will these be recorded?
These master mind sessions will not be recorded. You need to attend live to experience the benefits.

What technology do I need to participate?
We use a user friendly and free video conferencing platform called Zoom. You can access Zoom via computer/laptop, tablet, or mobile device. You just need to download and install a free piece of software. If you don’t want to video conference, you can also call into the session via telephone, but long distance charges may apply. Note, if you are on a limited data plan the latter may be a better option for you.

Where is The Purple Ink Cafe?
The Purple Ink Cafe is a virtual place and space to connect, create, and collaborate. That being said, we let you create your own version - with exactly what you need in the moment - with a short guided relaxation which leads you into the cafe through your own imagination!  The magic of modern technology and the user friendly app Zoom lets us connect in real time, both visually and auditorily, from the comfort of your own surroundings.

$35 for one is a bargain.  You can attend all seven!
