Art as a Portal to the Unconscious
with
Janhavi Mckenzie
Certified Coach
We are so excited to have Janhavi join us in February! Let's see what Janhavi has in store for us:
The Unconscious is this mysterious place that lives beneath the surface of our awareness and yet influences our behaviors, our actions, our responses to what life presents. The Unconscious is the treasure chest for our mysteries, both personal and grand. When we open the door to our Unconscious, when we give it a voice in our lives, we have access to greater Truths within ourselves and the greater expanse of which we are a part of. “The unconscious mind is decidedly simple, unaffected, straight forward and honest. “
Working with the Unconscious allows us to deepen our relationship with our selves. It allows us to explore both the vulnerabilities of our humanness and the wisdom of our Souls. In dreams, the Unconscious enters our lives as a surprise guest. In art, we consciously open the door to the unconscious and invite it into our lives, our awareness. “Open your mind and let the pictures out.” In this workshop, Janhavi will share her journey with art and the techniques she uses to allow her unconscious to speak and how to uncover the meaning behind the pictures. There will also be time to make Art, to invite your unconscious to speak. Absolutely no art experience is necessary. For art making you can use pens, markers, or crayons and common printer paper. Come prepared to make art, expand your mind and leave your judgments behind. |
